The Doctor is an Orthodontic Specialist
Dr. Hearne has completed a rigorous orthodontic residency after attending dental school. He is a registered specialist of the American Association of Orthodontists.

Initial Consultations are Complementary
We are happy to see you or your child for an orthodontic examination to give you information regarding any orthodontic problems that may be present. You don’t necessarily need a referral from your dentist for this appointment. We time the start of our treatments so you can get the best results in a reasonable amount of time. That means many patients are placed on six month recall exams until the patient's facial and dental development has reached the optimal time to start braces. There is no charge for these recall/growth observation visits.

We Stay Current with Continuing Education
As well as having membership in a number of study clubs, we attend numerous continuing education courses and meetings to keep up with advances in the orthodontic profession.

All Options of Treatment are Presented
The patient is informed of the treatment options available so they can make the best-informed choice.

Parents are Informed of Treatment Progress at Each Appointment
We make a conscious effort at every appointment to update you on treatment and if it is progressing according to schedule. We are committed to keeping you informed and we will always make time to answer your questions. In fact, we welcome parents back to the clinic area where we have special seating for moms and dads.

We Do Not Use Recycled Braces or Bands That Were Used In Someone Else's Mouth!
Although a legal and common practice, we never use recycled braces. We feel braces are precision devices manufactured to be in one mouth only!

Treatment is Completed Within the Estimated Time
We have a very high success rate of completing within the estimated treatment time. Efficient systems which include consistent visits to the office are in place to help ensure that treatment is completed on schedule with the best possible result.

Special Care is Given to the Treatment of Adult Patients
Many of our patients are adults. The office has been designed taking into consideration the specific needs of adult patients. We have treatment areas created to allow for more privacy. Treatment planning of adult patients differs from that of children. Options have been created to minimize visits while maximizing efficiency to accommodate an adult's busy schedule.

Video Driving Game - There is a classic big driving video game in our clinic by the on-deck seating. Test your driving skills and see if your ready for your Driver's license.

Special Kids Play Area- The small children have their own protected area off the main reception room. There are special wall games and books to keep them occupied. Also see how many animals you can find in our 3D mural.

Win Gift Certificates in our Good Brushing Contest
Earn three good brushing/oral hygiene grades in a row and you will be entered in the contest. A name is drawn every month. If you keep your teeth clean and are a bit lucky you could win a gift certificate, movie tickets, or dinner certificates. Adults can play, too.

Office T-Shirt
We give a Dr. Hearne T-shirt to those who receive new braces. If you wear your shirt to office visits, we'll take a photo of you to put on our bulletin board or Web site. Or, if you prefer, send us a photo of yourself wearing your shirt.

Annual October Skating Party
October is national orthodontic health month. We celebrate by having a Halloween skating party. Make sure you mark your calendar and remember to invite a friend to come with you. It is lots of fun with costumes and prizes for everyone.

Colored Braces and Custom Retainers
You won't believe all of the color choices to decorate your braces. You can change your colors at each appointment, (school colors, team colors, seasonal colors… its your choice). We've had requests for retainers with the American Flag design, photos of pets, and even pictures of themselves! See our "Choose Your Look" web page to see some of these options. Be creative!

When you enter our office, you will get a feeling of who we think is the VIP……it’s you, the patient!! All the portraits framed around the office are some of our former patients. We love to show off their beautiful smiles. Much care was taken in the design and decoration of our office to make each visit relaxed and enjoyable - a truly positive experience!

We Are a Computerized Office
When you enter the office you sign in on a computer, which immediately notifies the staff of your arrival. All patient charts are kept confidentially on our computers and our Franklin office can be linked to make appointments on our main Suffolk computer.

We utilize multimedia presentations (Interact) and digital imaging (Dolphin Imaging) to enhance your understanding and visualization of your individual orthodontic needs.

At your initial visit a multimedia demonstration and digital imaging will be utilized to educate you on the recommended orthodontic treatment plan as well as aid the doctor in establishing a definitive treatment plan.

Up-To-Date Sterilization Systems Are in Place
Our instruments are dry-heat and/or autoclave sterilized between every patient. Single-use/disposable items are used whenever possible. Sterilization systems are tested monthly by an independent biological monitoring service, North Bay/Bioscience, Inc.

State-Of-The-Art Braces Bring our Treatment To a New Level of Clinical Performance.
Our clear braces are virtually invisible and are designed to move the teeth efficiently. Clear wires are available as well. Nickel-titanium arch wires create a continuous light force resulting in more efficient tooth movement with less discomfort to our patients. Our light cure pre-pasted adhesive braces makes the process of placing the appliances on the teeth quick and comfortable. Consequently, treatment is completed more quickly with a more ideal occlusion (bite). New self-ligating braces can decrease the time needed to wear braces.

We Are a Provider of Brace-less Orthodontic Treatments
Dr. Hearne is very experienced in this type of new technology. Invisalign, Red/White/Blue are different products available to align the teeth without traditional braces. We will give you all the information you need to decide if this ultra esthetic treatment is for you.

Orthodontic Micro Implants
One of the latest technological advances in orthodontics is miniature screw-type implants used to help move teeth during braces treatment.

Imagine braces where you don’t have to remember to wear elastics, or head gear. These implants can reduce the need for bridges, and surgery.

Attention Is Paid To the Retention and Stabilization of the Result
The majority of orthodontic relapse occurs along the lower front teeth and is usually caused from poor cooperation using a lower removable retainer. As a result we will recommend a permanent retainer behind the lower front teeth, or a removable lower flexible spring retainer. We will discuss with each patient a definitive retention plan specific to their individual needs as treatment comes to completion.
