Giving Back
At Suffolk Braces, giving back to our community is at the heart of everything we do. Dr. Taylor has contributed to over twenty-five local, regional, and state charities and causes.
Smile for Christmas Essay Contest
Dr. Taylor and Suffolk Braces created an essay contest where children ages 12–18 write a 500-word essay on how a new smile would change their life. Applicants have some other factor in their life that would otherwise prevent their families from financially being able to seek orthodontic care. To date, they have given away 20 sets of braces for children in need valued at more than $140,000.
YMCA Healthy Kids Days
Dr. Taylor and Suffolk Braces provide tooth-brushing seminars and dental care kits with toothbrushes, toothpaste, and floss for about 500 YMCA families each year.
Community Partnerships
Suffolk Braces supports Bennett's Creek Little League, Oasis Ministry food drives, Suffolk Humane Society's Annual Mutt Strut Event, Bon Secours Colon Cancer 5K, Children's Hospital of The Kings Daughters (CHKD), and Suffolk Public Schools career days, among many others.
Why Giving Back Matters to Dr. Taylor and Our Team
Our work in Suffolk, VA goes beyond the treatment room. Dr. Taylor and our team believe a healthy smile can change how a young person feels about school, friends, and the future, and that every family deserves a chance at that opportunity. The Smile for Christmas essay contest grew from that belief, giving deserving young people the opportunity to receive orthodontic care that would otherwise be out of reach. Our team joins community events, volunteers time, and supports local organizations because we live and work here, too. When you choose Suffolk Braces, you are also supporting a practice that invests in its neighbors. We are grateful to our patients, schools, nonprofits, and partners who make these efforts possible, and we look forward to continuing to serve the Suffolk community for years to come.
Why Community Involvement Defines Who We Are
At Suffolk Braces, we believe in using our skills and resources to make a meaningful difference beyond the office walls. Our commitment to community involvement reflects our core values and strengthens the bonds that make Suffolk a wonderful place to live and work.
